Sarah Stone, MSW.

Sarah is a registered Social Worker in Edmonton, Alberta with a Master’s in Social Work (MSW) degree from Edinboro University. She has completed specialized post graduate training in the areas of simple and complex trauma, recent and historical abuse, substance use disorders, and anxiety and depression management.  Sarah has experience working in a variety of counselling settings including individual therapy work in private practice, in-patient and out-patient hospital positions, and in various levels of substance use therapy and treatment.  Sarah enjoys supporting clients to integrate evidence-based coping strategies, cognitive behavioral therapy methods, and specialized integrative approaches specific to individual needs, to assist you in the movement from discomfort, to growth and comfort.

Sarah uses a bio-psychosocial approach; taking into consideration the physical response, mental narratives, and external social factors that impact the level of holistic wellness.  She supports clients through their counselling work while being compassionate, non-judgmental, understanding and empathic, towards lived experiences, and enjoys challenging clients’ internal narratives that may be restricting them from finding growth towards wellness and balance.
